Enhancing wetlands on 675 additional acres at Greens WetBank

In March 2015, the Harris County Flood Control District began construction on a project that will restore and enhance wetlands on 675 additional acres at Greens WetBank, quadrupling the protected habitat there. The project will restore 40-50 acres of grassy wetlands and use berms and low water crossings to retain and move precipitation on the site. This work is described in the Flood Control District's Mitigation Work Plan, which is part of the Greens WetBank Mitigation Banking Instrument.
