Flora & Fauna

Texas is home to an estimated 2 million feral hogs (Sus scrofa), and they are found in almost all counties, including Harris County. The population and range of feral hogs has expanded dramatically because they are extremely adaptable and haveĀ a high reproductive rate. Feral hogs damage wetlands by rutting in wetlands and denuding the vegetation.
