Credits are currently unavailable at the Greens Bayou Wetlands Mitigation Bank, but we are working on a credit release at this time.
Greens Bayou Wetland Mitigation Bank offers credits from two subdivisions that share the same service area, based on the 8-digit Hydrologic Unit Code for the project's location. Each of the two subdivisions, however, offers compensatory mitigation for different wetlands categories, using different assessment methodologies and with different price structures.
CREDITS FROM SUBDIVISION B WILL BE SOLD FIRST.
This more mature subdivision offers credits for both herbaceous and forested freshwater wetlands. Credits from Subdivision B are assessed using the WET 2.0 methodology, which places a numerical score on the functions and values of wetlands. (Wetland functions include the physical, chemical, and biological characteristics of a wetland. Wetland values are those characteristics that are beneficial to society.) As in years past, the Flood Control District will perform this assessment.
This newer subdivision will offer compensatory mitigation for emergent and forested freshwater wetlands. Credits and wetlands functions within Subdivision C are assessed with a new tool, the Hydrogeomorphic Model Interim (HGMi). Permittees will be required to complete and submit an HGMi survey to the Greens WetBank for credit processing. (The Flood Control District will not perform this survey.) The survey may be done by a chosen environmental consulting firm and will be verified by the Corps.
